QLD:Blame game may not be over: AMA

Doctors are not so sure the new funding deal for public hospitals will end the blame game.

The Australian Medical Association has given general support to today's deal, under
which the states and territories agree that Canberra will fund up to 50 per cent of rising
public hospital costs from 2014-2015.

Under the agreement, the states will get $16.4 billion in the first six years.

AMA president Dr STEVE HAMBLETON says while the money is badly needed, the responsibilies
for public hospital funding are still divided, meaning the blame game is not entirely
gone.
