Fed: Five more officers heading to Afghanistan

Five federal police officers are heading to Afghanistan to support local police during
this week's national elections.

Home Affairs Minister BRENDAN O'CONNOR has told ABC radio .. it's another element of
Australia's support for Afghanistan.

It's the last day of campaigning before 17 million voters go to the polls on Thursday
to elect a president for only the second time in the country's history.

HAMID KARZAI .. who's ruled Afghanistan since the US-led invasion overthrew the Taliban
regime eight years ago .. is the frontrunner.
